My Nighttime Skincare Routine.

Helloooooooooooo guys! How are you all? I start school in TWO DAYS. That's so crazy! Part of me doesn't want to go back quite yet, but I am excited to see some of my pals again, and school means autumn and everything that goes along with that, and you all know how much I love autumn!

Today I'll be sharing my nightly skincare routine with you guys. Enjoy!!

Make-up Remover
Before I do anything, I have to take my eye makeup off. I don't usually wear any type of face makeup, besides maybe powder and a bit of blush.
Dr. Bronners Virgin Coconut Oil- I use this for EVERYTHING.
Around $9 at local Co-op.
To take off my eye makeup, I use coconut oil. Coconut oil? Yep. I use this oil for basically everything. It breaks up the makeup extremely well, and is also very very moisturizing, almost making it a 2-in-1 makeup remover and eye cream. Cool, right? All I do is take a tiny bit of oil, warm it up in my hands (so it becomes liquid, because coconut oil is solid), and apply it to my eyes to remove my makeup!
I also find that this works reeeeally well on lipstick!

Cleanser
I actually am using two cleansers at the moment, both of which I've been using for a while and really enjoy.
Purchased from Target: $7.
Firstly, I use the Aveeno Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser. This stuff is great, and I've been using it for a couple years now. It's very gentle, which is great for my fairly sensitive skin. It also has .5% salicylic acid in it, which is so little that it doesn't do a whole lot, but still helps a little. This cleanser also smells great!

This is just plain oatmeal, you can get it anywhere for around $3!
I also use oatmeal, which I bet a lot of people will find odd. But let me tell you, this is absolutely amazing. It is completely free of chemicals, which are found in most skincare products, so it's very gentle and soothes redness and irritation. It removes dirt, and the bits of oatmeal are great for a gentle exfoliating! All in all, this is fantastic. So cheap and so effective. My skin always feels so pampered after I use this!

Toner
Target: $6
As far as toning goes, I like to use the Neutrogena Alcohol-Free Toner. This removes excess dirt and makeup really well, I find, and it balances the pH levels in your skin. I just put some on a cotton ball and swipe it across my face after I cleanse, or sometimes in the middle of the day to freshen up a bit. It sounds super gross, but I kind of like looking on the cotton ball afterwards and seeing all the dirt that was on my face that now is off, haha :)

Spot Treatment
Department Store: $17
Every once and a while, I get a few blemishes and spots. I like to use this Clinique Spot Treatment. It has 5% benzoyl peroxide, which is a pretty well known treatment for blemishes. I find that this isn't too harsh, but only apply it to your spots, not your entire face!

Moisturizer
Department Store: $26. WORTH EVERY PENNY!
Eee, now onto my favorite step in my skin care routine!! I've been using the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel for about a year now, and I don't think I can live without this product. It smells so lovely, and it works wonders on my skin. It leaves my skin feeling wonderfully moisturized, but not greasy. I recommend this product to EVERYONE. It's honestly a skin-saver.

That's all for today, guys! I hope you liked today's post. I suspect that with school starting, I will be a little busier, but I plan on blogger as much as I possibly can! When do you guys start school?

Happy Birthday Emilicious.

Source: Tumblr via Zoella
Hey girls, what’ve you guys been up to lately? I’m busy with getting ready to go back to school, which makes me pretty excited! I like getting back into a routine.

Anyway, today’s blog post is going to be a little different, because today is Emilicious’s 1st birthday! Yep, I’ve had my blog for a whole year now. Woohoo!!

Honestly, making this blog was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I really love being able to connect with you all, and chat with you guys about the things we love. The first time someone commented on my blog, I smiled for I swear the entire day. You guys make me so happy.

I have to thank you, also, for sticking with me while I was away for so long and had bloggers block (is it called blogger’s block when you’re away for almost a year?). I’m so sorry for being gone, but this year is going to be different. I’ve become more organized, and I have LOTS of ideas for blog posts written down on my lil’ notepad. I also know that blogging and getting school work done will be a challenge, but it’s a challenge I’m 100% willing to take.

I’m so excited to see what this next year will bring for my blog, and you guys’ blogs. I really hope to connect with a ton more people, because like I said, you guys make me so so happy. I also hope to step out of my comfort zone a little, and blog about lots of different things.

I think that’s all I have for you guys today; I hope you didn’t mind that today’s post wasn’t really beauty-related.

I was thinking of sometime doing a Q&A post, so comment below any questions that you have for me!

I love you all; have an absolutely wonderful week, because you deserve it.

Say What You Need to Say.

Hello everyone, I hope you're weekend has been great so far. :-)

Last year in September, I did a post about judging people and labels (I'll link it below). It was a kind of heart-to-heart type post, and it ended up going over really well. Today, I have another one of those type of blog posts for you. I was inspired to do this by Cate from Perks of Being a Hipster (I'll link her post below).

I don't want to bring my personal life too much into this post, but I'm going to have to a little, so I'm sorry about that!

For the past 6 months, I've been friends with this guy, lets call him Joe for today. He was always really nice, and very fun to talk to, and we went to school together, so we saw a lot of each other. He ended up asking me out, and to be honest, I didn't want to. It wasn't that I disliked him, I just really wasn't ready for that. Ever since that moment, things had been tough. He would get mad at me for not being ready to date, and would have one of his other friends (we'll call her Julie), who really was quite scary and caused me several panic attacks, text me and manipulate me into dating him. So I did, I went out with him a few times, and things were okay. I still wasn't comfortable, but I was scared of Julie coming after me again, and Joe getting mad. Then came a night where I told Joe that I wasn't ready to be in a full-on relationship. Basically, he was furious, and so was Julie. I was so scared, but I stood my ground. That night, I lost a lot of respect and trust for Joe, as he had really disregarded how I might feel, and took everything out on me.

So ever since that moment, we were still been dating, but not seriously. He would still get mad occasionally, and he would lie a lot, and say mean things to me. So the other day, I told him that I didn't even want to date anymore. To make a long story short, he was upset, and Julie contacted me, eventually blaming me for if he commits suicide. I had had enough, and I stood up for myself against Julie, and then blocked her number.

That was only a few days ago, and I already feel a lot better.

A lot of us go through these sort of toxic relationships, whether they be friendships, or romantic relationships, and I don't think we always realize how much they're hurting us. Personally, I stayed with Joe for so long because I was worried he would never talk to me again, but I know some people stay because they like/love the other person so much, that they don't see how much they're being hurt by that other person.

I want you all to think, right now: what is preventing me from being happy? For me, that was Joe. I realized that I had to get out of the relationship. This is hard, but sometimes, if someone is making you really unhappy, you need to cut them out of your life. You need to just walk away. You don't deserve to be treated like crap, you deserve someone so much better.

Say what you need to say.

Is someone making you upset? Walk away. Are they criticizing you and the things you're passionate about? Tell them to cut it out. Is someone manipulating you? Leave, and don't look back.

I do believe in second chances, but there comes a time when you realize that things just aren't healthy, and you need to take care of yourself. You do you. Do whatever you need to do to make yourself happy.

You deserve to be happy, and it's so much better to say too much then never say enough.

I hope this post helped at least one person. If you guys ever need to talk, I am always available to do so. I love you all so much.

The County Fair.

Hellooooo everyone! Hope you guys have had a nice week.

The other day when I was down at my grandma's farm, the county fair was going on in the town nearby. Basically, there was a ton of food and lots of animals and things to do. Since I'll be leaving for our cabin on Friday, I thought I would make this a little mid-week post. Don't worry, I've got some bigger posts I'm working on for later...:-)

Enjoy!!

Dang, this sheep was fashionable.

They had a whole building full of bunnies! This one was super friendly.

Oh my gosh this malt was HUGE, but very tasty :)

I couldn't get enough of these bunnies...
That's all I've got for you guys this week. As always, suggestions for blog posts are welcome. Also, if you have any questions for me, please leave them in the comments, as I am hoping to do a Q&A post as soon as I can!

Love you all lots,

Sarah and Britta.

Hello everyone! I hope everyone's weekend was spectacular. To make up for the crappy quality pictures in my last post (LUSH Haul), I thought today I would share with you some pictures of my stunning friends, Britta and Sarah. I used my fancy-shmancy Olympus camera to take these!

I took these pictures for Britta and Sarah because they wanted to practice for their senior photos. These photos weren't edited at all, which I normally would do a bit, but my computer is being stupid today, haha. Anyway, enjoy!

I reeeeeally liked the lighting here, and Britta looks seriously beautiful.

Sarah looked so tan next to this pink wall we found downtown. Ah she's so cute!

Honestly my favorite picture from that day. She looks so incredible and I love her so much.

I swear Sarah could be a model, she's so stunning.

A lil' blurry, but these girls are adorable and I ♡ them.

I hope you all enjoyed today's post! Please let me know in the comments what you'd like to see from me next, I have a few ideas in mind. They are: OOTD, product review, book review, or more pictures from my recent little trip. Anyway, I love you all, and I hope your week is great.

Tiny LUSH Haul and Review

Hello again everyone! I figured since I hadn't posted in 36273 years, I would make two posts today. Hope that's okay with everyone. :-)

So I've become a little obsessed with LUSH. We have one fairly close to us in a mall I go to quite often, so I always pop in there. Firstly, let me say, that the people who work there are absolutely lovely. They're so kind and helpful! Secondly, yes, it's pricey, but I've found that splitting bath bombs in half and breaking off pieces of bubble bars and bath melts helps me get the most bang for my buck.

So the other day, I stopped into the LUSH store, and here is what I got! All these items I have tried, so I'm also adding my opinions on each item. Enjoy!

Eee LUSH is just so wonderful and argh I can't get enough.

Alright, first off, we have the You've Been Mangoed bath melt. What drew me to this one was mainly how it looks like a stick of butter, and that's essentially what it is! And don't even get me started on the smell, oh my god. It's a very strong smell, with a lot of citrus in it. I personally think this compliments the Sex Bomb scent reeeeeeeeally well. It's filled with almond oil, cocoa butter, and mango butter, which will make your bath water super soft.

I tried this last night, and it's really lovely. I only used a quarter of it (as you can see in the picture above), but it still left my skin really soft and smelling lovely. This doesn't fizz up like a bath bomb would, instead it melts slowly in the hot water, which I think is nice every once in a while. I'll definitely be repurchasing this!

Now onto my absolute favorite. Butterball bath bomb. This is my LUSH essential, and I think it's really underrated. You might pass this one by in the store, not even giving it a second look, but TRUST ME, the smell is incredible. It smells very sweet and vanilla-y, with maybe the slightest hint of flowers and citrus.

I've used this a few times, and my skin feels incredible when I do use it. The bath bomb has large bits of cocoa butter in it, so those melt in the bath water, and onto your skin. Whenever I have the Creamy Candy bubble bar, I like the use the two things together to create the best smelling bath in the world.

Here it is, the famous Sex Bomb bath bomb. I probably wouldn't have gotten this bath bomb if it wasn't for my best friend Ali. We went into a LUSH store once and she made me smell it, and I fell in love. Honestly, this bath bomb smells sexy, it's the only way to describe it! It's very girly and floraly, but kind of musky at the same time. Not to mention this makes the bath water an incredible color!

I first tried this bath bomb a couple weeks ago, and have repurchased it since. It's so fun and pretty and makes my skin nice and soft. I used this once with a bubble bar that was called Woohoo Wonder or something like that (it was limited edition, I believe), and it had golden luster in it. Oh my lord the bath was beautiful. Dark pink water and golden, shimmery bubbles. One if my favorite bath bombs ever!

Alright, that concludes my tiny little haul! I hope you guys enjoyed it. Please let me know if you'd like to see more hauls in the future, maybe clothes or beauty, or more LUSH (yes please). I actually did pick up some fall clothes, so let me know if that's something you'd like to see.

Hope you guys have a lovely rest of your week. Pretty please leave a comment telling me your favorite LUSH item, I'm always needing an excuse to go back! :-)

Love you all,

Emily

Easy and Effective Hair Treatment

Hello everybody! I have to apologize for not blogging for the longest time. With school and homework, I was pretty busy, but I'm happy to be back. I hope you've all been doing well. :-)

Anyway, I thought I would share with you guys one of my favorite DIY hair masks today. In the fall and winter especially (still in the summer sometimes), my hair can get reeeeeeally dry and pretty damaged looking. It feels rough and doesn't look very glossy or smooth. This mask is going to moisturize your hair, make it look sleek and make it feel soft and smooth. Also, I notice that it works quite well to help mend split-ends!

All you will need is:
♡2 egg yolks
♡1/4 cup of Olive oil
**you can also add 1/2 and avacado if you want to make the mask a little more special, but I hardly ever buy avacados, so I usually don't.

Simply beat the egg yolks in with the Olive oil, brush through your dry hair, and began distributing the eggs and Olive oil throughout your hair. I usually start from the bottom up, taking some of the liquid in my hand and squeezing it into my hair. You don't need to go all the way up to your roots, just because it's not really going to do much good. After your hair is coated, I recommend putting your hair in a top-knot (or bun, whatever you like to call it) and then squeeze the excess egg and Olive oil into your sink or something (just so your hair isn't DRIPPING wet with the stuff). Then, just put your hair into a shower cap, or a plastic bag, or even a towel, and relaaaaaaaaaaaaaaax.

To be honest, you can leave this in for about as long as you'd like. Only have 10 minutes? Leave it in for 10 minutes. I personally think the mask works best when it's left in for between 30 minutes and an hour, but it's going to do some good no matter how long you leave it in.

Afterwards, just hop in the shower and rinse it out. Shampoo and condition as you normally would, and you're DONE!

I personally like to beat the egg whites with a fork until they are frothy and apply them to my face after I wash it. This is a great face mask, and it's going to tighten your pores, giving you a sort of temporary face lift.

I really hope you enjoyed this weeks post. Pretty please let me know what you'd like to see next week! I was thinking I could do some sort of book review, a product review, or maybe post some more pictures. Any other ideas? :)

Xoxo, Emily
